Taking Steps
Taking Steps is a service of the DAY Program that is completely voluntary and open to all students. Any student who is interested in counseling about their drug and alcohol use now has that option. In Taking Steps, you can meet individually with a counselor weekly or even every few days. We tailor the program to meet the needs of individual students. Taking Steps is appropriate if a student:
- Needs support to stop drinking/using
- Wants to drink/use less
- Is in recovery and wants additional support to work on related issues
- Is concerned about a friend or family member who is using drugs or alcohol
Taking Steps provides individual, group, and even family counseling as well as educational groups and referral to resources in the community
